Brief Information
The FG42 is modeled after the German FG42 from 1941. The FG42 is a semi-automatic rifle and a very powerful weapon if you are able to use it right. The FG42 has a unique modifier of increased wall jump height, which can get you in some otherwise unreachable locations on some maps.
Recommended Strategies
Using the FG42 is simple but understanding the basic mechanics of the weapon can give you a great advantage against other players. Keep in mind, understanding your opponent is vital to winning a game of Straftat. If a player is playing slow and using a longer range weapon such as the FG42, Smith Carbine, M200, etc. A recommended strategy is to level your crosshair to about the head (straight ahead) and fire every time the gun naturally drops back to level after each shot. On the other hand, if the enemy is rushing you, and you are in possession of the FG42 it is recommended to use movement and attempt to hit a headshot despite your extreme disadvantage if the opponent has a closer range weapon. If you are attempting to attack someone with an FG42, a recommended strategy is to obtain a closer range weapon and rush the enemy, taking advantage of the fast movement that Straftat provides.
